Ginny’s Team Baking Battles, Round Three – Cookies and Founder’s Day
In August, Brigitte (one of our copywriters) won round three of the Ginny’s Team Baking Battles with these awesome Snickers Chocolate Chip Cookies.
Snickers Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
• 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
• 2 large eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• about 1/2 bag dark chocolate chips (approx. 5-6 oz)
• about 1 bag mini Snickers (approx 10-12 oz)
• about 2 tablespoons flour
Preparation
Preheat oven to 325°F.
In a bowl whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl with an electric mixer cream butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in vanilla then eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition, and beat in flour mixture.
Unwrap and chop Snickers bars (I cut each one in thirds both ways, but you could just chop them in half both ways). Toss pieces in a bowl with a small amount of flour—just enough to lightly coat them so they don’t stick together.
Stir chocolate chips and Snickers into dough and drop rounded tablespoons about 2 inches apart onto baking sheets. Bake cookies in batches in middle of oven 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden. Cool cookies on baking sheets on racks until firm. Cookies keep in airtight containers 5 days.

Today is our parent company’s Founder’s Day where we celebrate our core values and our history. As part of the celebration, we decided to share Brigitte’s delicious cookies with some of our Colony Brands family.
