Cut-out Sugar Cookies

cups salted butter
softened

cups granulated sugar

cups all-purpose flour

cups heavy whipping cream
Preparation
In a stand mixer, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
Add vanilla and eggs one at a time until incorporated.
In a medium bowl, sift together 3 3/4 cups flour and baking powder.
Slowly add flour mixture to the creamed mixture, alternating with heavy whipping cream until completely mixed together.
Form dough into a disk and wrap with plastic wrap.
Chill for 2 to 3 hours.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
Lightly flour surface with remaining 1/4 cup flour.
Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thick.
Use cookie cutters to cut into shapes.
Place cookies on baking sheets 1 inch apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes until bottoms are light brown, and the tops and edges are no longer shiny.
Remove from baking sheet and cool on wire racks.
