Mountain Dew Apple Dumplings

A white and red baking dish filled with Mountain Dew Apple Dumplings.

This Mountain Dew apple dumplings recipe may sound a little strange, but trust us: this is one of the most decadent, nearly sinfully good recipes that we have ever come across. Flaky crescent rolls and a huge helping of butter make this recipe dangerously delicious. We recommend using Granny Smith apples; a less tart apple can make the apple dumplings too sweet, while Granny Smiths provide just the right amount of tang.

Ingredients

1½

 sugar

1

tsp cinnamon

1¼

cups melted butter

3

cans of flaky butter crescent rolls

3

granny smith apples

1

(12 oz.) can of mountain dew

Preparation

  1. Peel, core and cut each apple into 8 sections. Butter a 9″ by 13″ baking dish. Unroll the can of crescent rolls and roll up an apple slice into each crescent roll. Place in the 9″ by 13″ dish.

  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan, then dump in the sugar and the cinnamon. Mix a few times, but keep the mixture lumpy. Spoon butter and sugar mixture over each apple to make sure all are covered. Then, slowly pour Mountain Dew over the apples. Bake at 350° F for 55 minutes, and enjoy the almost-sinful deliciousness.
